Moong Split Green is a premium split green gram (Vigna radiata), completely with skin on, and is one of the most gentle, easily digestible, and versatile pulses in India. Moong Split Green is a small, colourful green leafy vegetable, very quick to cook, and has been a mainstay of Indian home cooking and Ayurvedic diet for thousands of years, and is recommended for every age group, starting from infancy through illness.

It is a green-skinned pulse which is known as Moong Dal in Hindi and Gujarati-speaking regions and Cherupayar in Malayalam and Hesaru Kaalu in Kannada, Pachai Payaru in Tamil and Pesara Pappu in Telugu, and has a noticeably higher fibre content because it retains its outer green skin, which is not found in the yellow-skinned variety.

Moong Split Green is highly nutritious. It provides a significant amount of plant protein, high dietary fiber content, and has one of the lowest glycemic index among common dals; hence, it is an ideal option for diabetic and weight management diets. It is high in folate and so is especially beneficial in pregnancy, while it is low in oligosaccharides and is therefore recommended as the lightest of the dals when digestion is sensitive, and after illnesses or in infant feeding.
