Moriyo Available in 500g packs.
Long before fasting became a spiritual ritual, moriyo was already a grain. Barnyard millet, known as Moriyo in Gujarat, Sama in North India, Kuthiraivali in Tamil Nadu, and Udalu in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, has been cultivated across South Asia for over 3,000 years one of the oldest millets in human history, grown in conditions where no other grain would survive.
It is naturally gluten-free, with a glycemic index of ~50, meaningfully lower than white rice (~72), which supports steadier blood sugar levels and slower, more sustained energy release. It carries nearly three times more dietary fibre than white rice, a good amount of iron, calcium and magnesium that most grains simply don't offer. Light, cooling and easy to digest, Ayurveda classified it as Shyamaka sattvic, balancing and gentle on the gut. It is the only millet that qualifies as a fasting grain during Navratri and Ekadashi, making it irreplaceable in Gujarati and North Indian fasting kitchens for generations.
Since 1965, Angur has been bringing the finest toor dal from the fields of Gujarat to kitchens across the country, growing into a name trusted nationwide as "Guniyal Naari ni Ek Matra Pasand." Today, that same legacy of quality and genuine flavour lives on in every Angur product, from pulses and besan to millets like Angur Moriyo.
Angur Moriyo is free from any human intervention in every step of sorting, cleaning and sealing so what reaches your kitchen is pure barnyard millet without any contamination. Every batch is packed to lock in freshness and nutrition, making Angur Moriyo a dependable everyday staple for fasting days, diabetic-friendly diets, weight-conscious households, and gut-friendly eating for the whole family, at any age.
